Oak Creek Virtual Field Trip

We love hearing the travel stories of our guests and why they chose Sedona as their destination. This story from a very creative Phoenix art teacher is inspiring!

Remote classes may have become the norm for many, but it can be more challenging to keep kids engaged in a virtual environment than it is in a classroom setting. Local Art Teacher, Candace Green shares, “the kids weren’t talking or interacting”, so she came up with a way to expose her students to different types of art around the valley and state.

Virtual Field Trip on Oak Creek

It’s a fun game she entitled “Where in the World is Mrs. Green?”.

Other Phoenix valley teachers are beginning to follow her example and have seen a 300% increase in engagement since starting the virtual field trips! Wow. Way to go Candace!

Take a peek at some of the paintings that students created while Candace was shared her view from our private beach on Oak Creek! You can stay up to date with this wonderful artistic journey by following Candace on Facebook.
